I Didn't Think She Cared

She walked in cool as a summer breeze,
Blue jeans tight, movin’ with ease.
Smiled like she had nothin’ to hide,
But I shoulda seen the fire inside.

She leaned in close, whispered real low,
Said, "Boy, there’s things you don’t wanna know."
I laughed it off, thought it was sweet,
Never saw the pain run so deep.

I didn’t think she cared, no,
Didn’t see that lightning in her soul.
One wrong word, one bad move,
And that love turned into something cruel.
I didn’t think she cared... but she did.

It wasn’t a fight, it wasn’t a game,
It was a love I took in vain.
She carried hope like a fragile flame,
And I was the fool who lost the game.

I thought love was safe and sound,
Never knew how fast it could turn around.
Now I’m watchin’ tail lights fade,
Wishin’ I had seen the weight…

I didn’t think she cared, no,
Didn’t see that lightning in her soul.
One wrong word, one bad move,
And that love turned into something cruel.
I didn’t think she cared... but she did.

She left me there with nothin’ to say,
Didn’t know love could end that way.
Now I carry the weight instead,
Of the words I said... and the love that's dead.
